Background:

Orphaned at 16, Nickie is the sole guardian of her brother Ben.   Their parents were killed by a BSD in the Appalachian Mountains while on a family wilderness walk.   She and her brother were the only survivors, and they survived only by her undergoing her first change.   Afterwards, Nickie filed for Emancipation, and has been taking care of her brother ever since.

She discovered Garou society with the help of a Weaver spirit in her laptop, which brought her to the attention of the Glass Walkers in the Washington,DC area.  It wasn't long before she found the local Sept and was inducted in Garou society.

It was after her Rite of Passage, where she got her Garou name, DTN, or Disruption Tolerant Networking.   DTN is designed to provide communication in unstable and stressed environments.  Though not a Galliard, she does tend to try to talk her way out of things.   She joined the pack, Breaks the Spiral, at the Mason Neck Sept near Washington,DC, at the MasonNeckState Park. As a pack, they hunted down groups of Black Spiral Dancers, typically small packs or lone individuals when possible.

One attack didn't go as well, however.  The BSDs were more numerous than expected, as they had finally caught on to what the pack was doing and decided to strike back.  Nickie and her pack mate, Bitter Joy, were they only two surviving members, though Nickie was left paralyzed from the waist down by an injury she received preventing a killing blow to Bitter Joy.

After spending some time recovering, both physically and mentally, Nickie decided to return home to Chicago.   Her father had been a computer programmer and political consultant to a number of political campaigns in the past, and Nickie had learned at his knee, and had taken over his job after he died.   With the arrest of Governor Blagojevich, it seemed a good time to come back to Chicago to help re-energize the Republican Party.  Though she often gets strange looks for her political beliefs, being a Garou and a Glass Walker; as she puts it, "I'm a Republican, not a Conservative.   It's not my fault that no one seems to realize that the two aren't intrinsically linked.
